After a long hiatus, we’re sort of back. I’m not dead yet, and ytz’s been awfully busy. I upgraded wordpress to 3.0 and decided to celebrate the occasion with a bit of shameless self-promotion. What kept me up at night in May, and what made me realise that monitor speakers are the sine qua non of music production (speakers that I lack).
DAW: Orion Pro 7.x
Lots of softsynths, sparse use of samples, no microkorg (yet, my soundcard’s crap).

Yep, you heard right; we got an exclusive. And not just any ol’ mix, we got Citrus aka Christopher Robin on the decks. In lieu of a bio I will just say that Chris has been a musical mentor for me – in my early 20s (ytz took over at mid 20s)- he introduced me to the finest deep house, detroit techno, disco funk, soul, you name it. This particular mix takes me way back to that sweet place in time where him and Si were sharing a flat with me, south-central St. Helens… Tracklisting should arrive by email any minute now, not that you need it. One of Super Value’s finest edits and one that took me ages to spot as there was virtually no tracklisting on the cd (I had to employ the expertise of Christopher Robin & the brownswood boards for it). Enjoy. AFAIK it hasn’t been uploaded on youtube before. The original is off his Musical Massage LP, released in 1976. In 2001 it was re-issued in the UK by expansion. As usual, youtube managed to really cock-up the audio…
